General Rules
Below is a list of General Rules, Requirements and Frequently Asked Questions in regards to both Major and Mini Contests that we run on Misty Ice Designs.
Requirements
- Must be a member of the Forums. Registration is free and participation is a plus!
- Must be 13 years of age or with a Parents Consent.
- Must follow the Rules
General Rules
Please follow these general rules when entering any of the contests.
- Be Polite at all times, even if you don't like something. Follow the old saying; "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all."
- No Hentai in ANY contests run.
- "Fuck you you fucking fucker" is not considered Moderate use of curse words, all curses in contests must be kept in moderation. "omfg yay!" is Fine.
- NO THEFT. Entries found to have been stolen from someone else will not only get your entry disqualified but will also earn you banned from the forums/site.
- This includes cropping wallpapers to make graphics.
- All sources must be credited, if not on the graphic then in the notes after. (Icons would have credits after, not on the graphic.)
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I enter a contest with more than one entry?
This depends on the contest, please read the specific contest rules for the answer to this question. As a general policy we don't mind if you have more than one piece in the entry.
Q. How will I know if I've won?
You check back here, we will announce winners on the website and on the forums
Q. I don't want to join the forums, can't I just submit my entry to you by email?
No. I get way too much spam as it is, chances are I'd lose your entry and I don't want the staff or other webmasters to have to deal with it either. It's not the end of the world if you join only to enter the contests. We don't mind, though we do encourage activity.
Q. I've won, and you're displaying my link, how long does it stay up there?
As long as we have the contest section operable your link is up there along with your entry.
Q. I don't want my entry displayed, can you just display my name and a link to my site?
Yes, just let us know when you enter the contest. I try to update as I'm judging the contest, so I need to know before hand. I don't have time to wait for you to get back to me.
Q. I don't have a site, can I still enter the contests?
By all means, just let us know if you want us to link somewhere else.
Q. Can members host their own contest (with permission?)
No, we're keeping this more to the Site now, you can REQUEST topics for Contests at any time though
Q.Can designers host their own contests WITHOUT permission?
No. See the answer above.
Q. Also, is there limitations to contest topics? (adult themed, extreme violence, drugs and alcohol)
Adult Themed, is a touchy subject, we won't allow drugs but alcohol and extreme violence is a likely ok, never be afraid to make a suggestion. If it's a no go we'll let you know.
Q. The answer to my question isn't here, how do I get my question answered?
Email webmistress@mistyicedesigns.com with your subject line as "MiD Contests Question" and I'll be happy to help you out. OR as perferred, join the Forums and ask your question in the contest section's Questions thread.
