Misty Ice Designs Major Contests!
This is our Major Contest Section. Once every couple of months we will host what we would consider as a major contest. We might not be doing that much in the way of prizes but we're going to look to continue to do the contests and eventually start offering something real for prizes.
As always be mindful of our General Contest Rules.
Designing Misty...
Our first major contest of 2007 is called Designing Misty because it means you're going to design Misty Ice Designs's Layout.
Now we're going to be hella strict on our guidelines, but if you read through it it'll all make sense on what we need from you in order to enter. Of course you need to be a member of the Forums and for this contest you or your partner are going to need to know HTML/PHP.
One of the things about MiD is that we have a lot of dynamic pieces so what we're going to do is ask you to build the skelleton and we'll fix up the rest. <3
Rules
Layout May NOT use iframes. Any iframe layouts will be disqualified.
Layout May NOT side scroll. Side Scrolling layouts will be disqualified.
Layout MUST be compatible for at LEAST 1024x768.
ONE entry per person.
No theme - but please no foul language on the layout or nudity.
Be mindful of users on dialup and keep the size of the images down, while keeping the quality up.
NO SPLASH PAGES.
NO WEB ADDRESS ON THE IMAGES. We will give you credit for your work, it'll be where the credits on MiD are always included at the bottom of every page. Splashing a link to your site all over the layout will have you disqualified.
ALL SOURCES USED MUST BE CREDITED.
Layout MUST working in at LEAST Firefox and Internet Explorer. (In Opera and Safari is nice too)
You MAY work with other people to complete this Contest.
Guidelines
The content area must have a minimum width of 650px.
The Link bar must have a minimum width of 150px. (We've tried drop downs and only category links, it doesn't work for us)
There must be a Layout of the Moment (with preview and download link), Icon of the Moment area.
Optional "Quote of the Moment" area.
Misty Ice Designs Must appear on the layout.
Optional Version number 12.0
Layout must be coded in acceptable HTML. We will make it dynamic after.
Judges and Judging Criteria
The judges of Appearance and Functionality will be Kristen and LadyPSerenity.
The judge of coding will be Aaron.
Your Work will be judged by how it looks, how you display the links, what fonts you used, your use of crediting, and your coding. (If you're a sloppy coder - run it through a validator, we're judging it.)
How to Enter
Go to the Forums Register, and go to the Contest section. There will be a post there for this contest called "Designing Misty".
From here you must attach a preview of the layout along with the ZIP file containing all the images and the coding.
There WILL be a sample entry up as soon as possible.
Contest Start and Finish
Start: January 20, 2007
Finish: February 28, 2007
Prizes and that Jazz
First Place: Your layout will be MiDs layout for the period of 30days(min). You will recieve a prize image, 5,000 forum points, and a link to your website or a website of your chosing in our winners section. (Not to mention your link on our main page, and all pages after, because you designed the layout!)
Second Place: You will recieve a prize image, 2,500 points, and a link to your website or a website of your chosing in the winners section.
Third Place: You will recieve a prize image, 1,250 Points, and a link to your website or a website of your chosing in the winners section.
